    My new to me '06

broken spokes [/IMG] My little trailer queen My '06 suffered some of the early wheel issues. The front developed into a brake rotor warping machine. Most guys replaced the original brake rotors with floating rotors like the one on your new '06. I figured it was a new bike, it shouldn't...

    Tires on 06 Scram

06 Scram Motorcycle superstore has decent pricing on Metzeler Tourance tires. As far as tires on my Scram, it makes sense to go with the longest wearing, best all weather dual sport tires available. Cheaper tires wear out faster and I mount and balance my tires myself, so less often is...

    Cafe Racer season 2

inch deep and a mile wide They need to appeal to the largest pool of TV viewers, hence the large numbers of cuts and quick pace - not going into anthing long enough to bore some non-riding wannabe douche. The 69 CB750 was a nice bike before he cut into it, but it had 75,000 miles and the...

    Scrambling off the pavement.

This is not a joke - In response to a warranty claim, Triumph told me I voided my warranty by taking the Scram off road. They said that it was not meant to go off road. I call that playing both sides of the coin!

    Frame Damage - Scrambler

My apologies for not uploading pics of the repair. I just started grad school and I've been busy. I had pretty much forgotten about the post when I took a quick look at the other site and saw that a guy (RotaryRacer) was experiencing a frame failure just like mine. Honestly, I wasn't going...

    scram for touring?

That was tongue in cheek - I probably did say 'perfect' in my naive first year or two of riding... Also, 'brave' must be a hop-skip & a jump from stupid!:sheep:

    scram for touring?

I would recomend picking a different bike - but if you insist on a Scram, there are a few things that will help on longer rides. If you drop the dough on a decent set of shocks and a gel seat, you won't get 'numb bum'. It's also a good idea to sort out the front suspension with new springs...

    I don't remember saying perfect.

    Frame Damage - Scrambler

Yeah, thanks. I have taken the bike offroad, not rough - but definitely offroad. I never abused or treated my bike carelessly, but I did go offroad. I thought we were supposed to? I guess I'm naive and shouldn't buy the marketing. Live and learn! I'm not much for fighting city hall, so I'm...

    Frame Damage - Scrambler

Here are a few pics of some frame damage I noticed a few weeks ago while having the shocks serviced. The posts that the shocks slide onto is bending up and the bracket it attaches to is failing in between the welds. It is happening on both sides - the right hand side is more...

    Coolest Motorcycle Ever!!!

tribute bike? It's a replica of a late 30s Harley that broke a land speed record. It was pretty famous story, and in the end, they had to take the tail section off to actually break the record. It was heavy as hell and painted green.

Renntec or single seat for a bit of touring?

You're in Germany? Why not get a Hepco & Becker tail rack for the Scrambler? I've used it for years to secure my gear on long road trips - works very well. I use the gel seat that looks like the stock seat. It is more comfortable than the stocker, but I think the rear shocks play a bigger...

    Florida Equality

Got room for one more? I'm heading to the Keys tomorrow morning. I plan to kick around for a week or two. I'm riding my Scrambler and camping all the way. This will be my first time to Florida, and first time defying the laws of thermodynamics. I've got some heated gear, but it's going...

    indian larry

There's a store in Williamsburg Brooklyn that was opened by friends of Larry - three or four of his bikes are in the small shop. They sell mostly riding gear. I went in because it looked interesting - never heard of Indian Larry before that day. One of his bikes was rockin' an old Triumph...

I test rode a stock 2010 - not harsh, just not as comfortable as my bike.

    Barkbusters Storm handguards?

Triumph's hanguards for the tiger are $80 - $85 delivered (inflation!) and they work well on the Scrambler. Better for blocking the wind/rain than crashing, but will do both. Unfortunately, like most hanguards they're dog ugly! AissieBikerDave, I really like the look of the Barkbusters...

    the truck of motorcycles?

My bike doesn't ride like any other bike I've ridden. It rides more like a truck?! My Scrambler is much smoother and more comfortable than it used to be - I've had to change my suspension to suit my needs. Now that I've gotten it the way I want it, I'm noticing that the riding characteristics...

    Carrying tools

When I go on long trips with my scrambler, I pack a CruzTools RTM3 slightly modified to suit my bike/me (pic below). I roll a 19mm wrench in the middle of the tool roll for the axles. I stuck a standard 3/8 socket wrench, a 6" extender bar (for replaceing spark plugs) and an 18mm Craftsman...
