    Tuning help needed!

Wideband it. It could be rich or it could be a lean pop. I tweaked my #11 tune using a wideband set up. Of course, I've tuned piggy back computers on cars, so I had a clue as to how to go about tweaking. 2-2500 is only half of it, what TPS are you at?

    EfI Bonnie hard to start

Knock on wood, my 2010SE could sit for three weeks and I could go out and fire it life on the first attempt. No battery tender either. Could one of you post up a video of your bike doing this kick out?

    I lost power!

12.8 is good. Check the kill switch, ignition switch, and both positive and earth battery cables on the batt and on the frame respectively. Don't forget to check at the starter solenoid where B+ comes in.

    Dead Bonnie at Barber

When you said it picked up as you let off that usually describes a lean condition. Running high also describes a lean condition. Good job on being proactive and hunting down the problem and reporting back!

    zrx shocks

180lbs here, extremely pleased with my Ohlins' 36E's from Cogent. Works or Ohlins, spend around the 500 and be done with it. Those who have, can't speak high enough of either brand.

    Reality Check from Honda

I wonder if it feels more like an appliance than a motorcycle??? However, 70 mpg is nothing to sneeze at.

The only way to really know is to either spin it up on a dyno or install a wideband. SOTP is too subjective.

    Chop Cult's 2012 Sportster vs T100 Shootout

Rick, Maybe that's why they went with the t100. I believe the SE would have been the better choice for handing, but even then, the Sporty XL would still beat it at the strip due to the lack of cc's on the Bonnie's part.

    Aluminum Wheel Polishing

I have a 2010 SE and my covers are not clear coated. When I polish, the rag goes black and the aluminum brightens. I do believe my rims are clear coated. If you want to remove the clearcoat, Permatex -- Mr. Gasket remover works wonders. I find that I can keep engine covers cleaner if...

    Aluminum Wheel Polishing

Maybe try vinegar in a small spot to see if it removes the hard water spots. I've never tried this and cannot vow that it works, but just a suggestion. Use at your own risk. Afterwards be sure to neutralize with a baking soda mix. http://www.mydailydriver.com/driveway/swirl-marks...

Would the real Motorcycle Mechanic please stand up ? ?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that any automotive mechanic or tech worth their tools will easily be able to adapt to motorcycles. Outside of manufacturer training, MMI and UTI are great for people who have no idea which end of the screw driver to hold. The real sucker punch...

Factory dual widebands would have been a supersweet set up, but yes, for the most part, we have a 1986-88 Ford Mustang speed density set up with multiplexing. If I ever find a dealer nice enough to share a user's guide with me, I'll let you know just how much relavance the 02 actually plays...

Mike, The computer, due to many policing agencies, always has a system of checks and balances. EPA doesn't like us dirtying the air any more than it already is LOL. When you turn the key to the on position, the computer says hello to such friends as: MAP Sensor ( two of them ) Helps with...

Would the real Motorcycle Mechanic please stand up ? ?

The factory computer comes with a level of yes and no responses programmed into algorithms. Mike, through careful dynoing and verifying with the wideband is that the new programmed baseline will allow enough wiggle room for new modifications. Computers have wastegates in a sense. So, if...

Would the real Motorcycle Mechanic please stand up ? ?

Technically, it's against the law for anyone in the U.S. to alter any emissions equipment whatsoever (unless it's CARB approved). IL goes for far as anything other than OEM is against the law, however, we do not have safety lanes for regular vehicles | motorcycles, nor system check points, so...

Ok, I know that you and Mikenva are like oil and water, but here's what I think Mikenva was getting at: Middle of the Road: Your case in point: all bikes regardless of altitude ship out with the same jetting. Only differentiating factor is alcohol, say E100 as fuel. Obviously, with its...

Would the real Motorcycle Mechanic please stand up ? ?

Forgive me if I'm off base on this, but don't most of our awesome vendors pretty much supply this information? Especially if you were ordering from them? One thing I have noticed regarding our retro-cruisers, is that there is NOT a shootout, persay, as you would find in a typical automobile...
