    cheap battery alternatives

My walmart battery croaked after less than 2 years, and it was on a battery tender the whole time. I won't waste another $50 on one of them when a yuasa or deka is $20 more.

anyone have any experience with VW Dune Buggies or Sand Rails?

Alot of the serious sand rails adapt a ford 2.3 turbo to the VW transmission. Some stock 2.3 turbos are over 200hp, breathed on 300hp easy. Check out esslinger engineering.

    got-dam! ducati hottness!

Who the hell would put motocross bars on a bike like that. It needs proper clip-ons, or at least some ace bars. Otherwise its really nice.

    Bonneville Clip-ons

Looks like Benjies is building direct fit clip-ons. Stainless T clip-on bars that will slide in to the stock Hinckley bonneville forks. It's set up for the stock switches, levers, and even the end caps. The clip ons also comes with stianless bracket for the brake resevoir. Looks nice for a...

    Like a whole new bike

looks great seth, looks like you went down the same path I did - mbars, exhaust, rearset, solo seat. What happened to the flyscreen? I always liked that bobbed flyscreen you had. I finally bobbed my rear fender, and now it looks like a thruxton rear fender, oh well, I can always hack a...

32" Drag Bars? Yet another Bar Thread...

FWIW, I had the 32" wide black low cafe bars from flanders and traded them out for the 28" wide M-bars and haven't looked back. The narrower bars with more angle are much better for me.

    Aftermarket Tachometer Wiring

I'm not exactly sure about this, but as I recall there are 1 or 2 washers on each post between the speedo and the plastic housing (inside it), these may keep you from being able to really tighten the speedo down. D9, did you have the washers on the inside of the housing when you mocked it up...

    Need advice on Bonnie clipons

I've seen a local bike that was converted to clip-ons, it looks ok except for the two big holes in the top triple tree where the handlebar risers used to be. I saw one person I think on here that filled them in, and polished it to give it a clean look. Maybe a thruxton tree would work better?

    Aftermarket Tachometer Wiring

D9 asked me to post a write-up on wiring up an aftermarket tach (drag specialties DS244133 and clones) on the bonnevilles. So to save the poor souls who were being referred to the unmentionable site :nono: i've written up the instructions here. All photos are of my 2004 Bonneville, but I think...

    BelRay super clean chainlube

I'll second the dupont multipurpose dry lubricant. It's the shit, just like matt says. It's has the least "flingability" of anything i've tried. Plus its cheap and easy to find (lowes).

    Smok'em if ya got'em

I would recommend an ale to go with the smoked lens, the only wine I like is from a blower. The plastic is actually dyed, it will not wash off. I'm not sure about fading, but if it ever does you could just dye them again, but I doubt it will fade. I don't think the tinting affects the light...
