How far can it go after fuel light comes on?

When I first got the bike, I filled the tank, zero the odometer and ran it out of gas. Now I can glance at the odo and know about how much gas I have until I hit reserve.

    New water cooled Bonneville spotted

I hate the look of a square/rectangle shaped rad up front on any bike including the Bird, Rocket and this one. I think I could live with it if it followed the down tube shape and blended in or was underneath some how. I do understand and appreciate the value of liquid cooling however.

    America/Speedy Headers on a Bonneville

I'm not sure whether the speedy pipes would be a direct fit, you may have minor modifications to make. You definetly don't want to hang the header pipes from the cylinder head and will require a lower mount. The pipes will also be much heavier as they are a double wall pipe and both sides...

    Mag wheel breakdown questions.

I will keep an eye on them, thanks. The purpose of my post was to offer an easy way to remove wheel bearings when there is a spacer interfering with access.

    Mag wheel breakdown questions.

Thank you. I also thought the bearings would require replacement and after I inspected them I couldn't bring myself to trash them and they are doing fine. Still no noise, no wobble and no heat.

    Mag wheel breakdown questions.

Sorry man, but I couldn't get them that way, there is no surface to to place the punch on. I layered some rubber oil line about 1" long that just fit inside the spacer tube between the bearings with a fender washer on each end. I then tightened the nut and bolt running through it until it...

    Mag wheel breakdown questions.

Yup, bearings and seals have to come out. The bearing and seal surface areas of the wheel should be taped off and not coated.

    Engine Removal Project

Sorry to hear that Hedge, thought you had it cased. I guess that answers my earlier question of what was keeping the engine from turning over.

That's great news Hedge, glad everything was OK. So, any speculation on why the crank would not turn over?

    Engine Removal Project

Wow, good job Hedge. Everything does look normal. I hope you can find evidence of what has happened though. Have you released the crank to inspect the main bearings? There's not much else it can be unless the tranny has a lock or was in gear all along?

    Engine Removal Project

I have never had success with rubber mallets. You may want to try a steel hammer on a piece of wood, that has always worked for me.

I noticed in your pic that the spark plugs are still in. Removing the plugs will remove the compression and possibly allow you to turn the crank?

That is the ugliest piece of shit I've ever seen called a motorcycle. I don't like anything about it.
