The only mods made to my 2008 black are suspension and touring oriented, otherwise it is stock but it gives me great pleasure to load it with lots of stuff and take off for a week(end) of --------.

Yeah, that's one of my concerns. I've been thinking about hacking the Bonnie too, but it'd be a lot easier to buy a ready-to-roll Ural, at first anyway.

Bags were bought years ago and used on two previous bikes. They were throughovers by Fieldsheer and I removed the straps and backed them with thin wood and bolted them to the "quick mounts". I love them but, they're beginning to show their age and I'm looking for a set of replacements, finding nothing I like as well as them, yet.

Thanks Grumpy! I already have the same luggage rack as well as the luggage brackets that came with the Triumph teardrop bags that wore out too soon, and have been looking for a good set of removable soft bags to travel with. I liked yours as my Bonny is black and red.
So the search continues...

I've now been through all 119 pages. This thread and the D9 customer album have to be the best Bonniville porn available anywhere. Too bad some posts have their photobucket or other picture accounts shown as expired. Some really beautiful bikes, I saved copies of the cafe bikes I liked for inspiration. The best shots are of the bikes in action or in remote locations. Thanks to everyone who contributed.

I think I've posted my bike when I first got it in 2008 but can't seem to find a post. So, this is where I'm at with it. Just had the wheels powder coated and found that the front was laced wrong and both not trued. But both being taken care of. Had the headlight bucket coated as well. Wish I would have gone satin on the rims/hubs in hindsight. But still love it!
And I keep having a problem with the wiring bundle coming unconnected from tabs on the rear fender. Adding the aftermarket signals has it's issues.
