OK I found a good 10 degree ign advance unit in my stash of Brit parts.
I'll clean it up a bit but this should cure the timing problems on the Trophy 250
next we have to remove and replace a few broken studs and bolts
then new clutch, cables, brakes and get it ready to ship to Hawaii

To post the larger pictures you need to have an account on an image hosting site (its free) I use PhotoBucket. You upload your pictures on there and each picture is given an image URL (normally displayed clearly next to the picture). You copy the URL address and on the forum, in the reply box area there is a button called inset image (its the little yellow one that looks like a post card). click the button and a window will open up asking for the image URL. Paste it in the, select OK and the image will be added to your post.
I picked up a Boyer electronic ignition for the 250 Triumph on eBay for $75
of course the mechanical advance unit I made up from parts is now working perfectly
maybe I'll put it on the B50 instead
it really needs a good teardown to replace all the leaking gaskets and replace the stripped studs
that won't happen before it goes to Hawaii but at least it won't rust while its there

the Triumph 250 blew up
Dan had been riding it all over when yesterday the engine seized.
it looks like it dropped a valve; the piston is trash and I suspect the rod is bent
the head is probaly knackered too
I'll know more when I pull the head
that bike will not be going to Hawaii
