    Bonneville as first 'real' bike

i looked it up cause i was curious: www.bestbeginnermotorcycles.com tested an 08 ninja 250 0-60: 5.7 sec. top speed: 105 mph rider magazine did a test of a 2001 triumph bonneville: 0-60: 5.7 sec. top speed: 105 mph it would seem that, from a performance standpoint, the two bikes...

    Open-faced helmets?

i just ordered a custom helmet from oldschoolhelmets.web.com. the main guy josh was really good to work with on the custom design. for 199.00 you get a choice of either a biltwell, fulmer, or bell 3/4 helmet. then you can choose your own design or pick one off their website. i ordered a flat...

    harder compond tire

when i ordered my avon azaro tires from motorcycle superstore there were TONS of different tubes to choose from. what i did was talk to them on their live chat online. i wasn't sure what tube i needed either, the operator was very friendly and helpful. i think i paid around 13 bucks or something...

    harder compond tire

i bought them through motorcycle superstore. excellent service and free shipping. i had my tires in a day or two. i wouldn't bother with bike bandit. it always takes forever to get anything through them. you'll like the azaro-st tires. they look awesome on the bike too!-keith

    harder compond tire

i just put on avon azario-st's front and back. they are a sport touring tire (hence ST). they have a softer compound on the sides for grip in corners and hard compound in the center for straight ahead riding. since i work all the time, i mostly use the bike for commuting and i am very happy with...

Bonneville SE or T100 tall riders

do they give you any discounts for taking a riding course? when i bought my bonnie, i took the HD riding course and it significantly lowered my premiums. when i took the HD course they had a pretty good deal going. the course was 300.00, but i got a 200 dollar gift certificate and 20% off all...

Bonneville SE or T100 tall riders

well, i'll throw my .02 in the ring. i, personally, favor the T100. i am not much for the mag rims on a classic bike. that being said, if that is your cup of tea, then i say go for it. a couple of things you could look at. first, as mentioned, you can go for the T100 seat. this seat is taller...

    UK Low Bars

i had them on my bike at one time. here's my .02 on them. first, they are lower than the stock bars. i felt the rise was pretty decent compared to the stock bars. the thing i hated about them was the pullback. way, way too much. felt like i was pushing a wheelbarrow. when looking at the the bars...

URGENT: Can I replace only the inner tube or need to replace tube and tire?

sorry, not trying to be a jerk, but how much is your life worth? i know in this economy, it is easy to skimp and find cheap ways to avoid spending money, but you are risking a major accident for a few hundred bucks or so. do yourself a favor a get the new tire and tube. we really don't want to...

dumb question about adding brake fluid.

i know this is old hat for most of you, but how do i go about adding brake fluid to the rear brake. the level is at the low level and i didn't know if i need to do anything special other than just fill it up with the approved brake fluid to the correct level? by the way, what brake fluid do you...

    new Bonneville performance

i ride back and forth everyday on my 08 bonneville t100 to work. it is a 100 mile roundtrip commute. almost all of it is spent on I-75, so i am pretty much cruising at between 70-80 mph. i have done this for the whole 11,000 miles i have on her at the moment. as far as how fast will it go, it...

    Bonneville pricing question.

that's a little pricy to me. i looked it up and the 2010 bonneville t100 is $8800 and the arrow 2-2 exhaust is 1200. that's 10,000 dollars and it is also msrp. is the $10,750 including freight and set-up. if it is, you are probably in the ballpark (and i mean ballpark!), if it isn't then you are...

anyone know the size of the handlebar clamp bolts?

well, if you really want to know..... I was taking my m bars off to try them with the rise-down. at that time, they seemed to be coming out really tough. like a jack-ass, i put them back in without using a tap and die to chase the threads and guess what? i sheared off one of the screws. when i...

Being a rider.. fact or fiction

you know what kills me is that people think you are only a "biker" if you own a harley. i call myself a biker, not because of what i ride, but because i ride. i guess in a way, i consider myself an outcast all the way around. i don't fit in with the harley guys cause i don't have all of the...

    New Bonneville SE/rear suspension question

gotta agree with mike m. i just put ikon 7610 rear shocks and ikon fork springs on my 08 bonnie. totally made the bonnie a new bike. prices for the ikons are very reasonable and are a very worthwile mod to your bike.

can u pull the spacer on fork springs without a jack?

you are correct sir! the spacer was way too much. i think i'll keep the 10 wt in for now and see how it goes with the new ikon shocks. i'm hoping it'll finally handle the way it was always meant to be! now i just got to save up enough for fcr's, ark, and new cams!
