Tiger 1050 power socket for GPS?

It's no problem -of couse I used to own a BMW K1200LT :) You'll find pictures and instructions on the Tiger 1050 forum. From memory - remove the 3 screws for the upper fairing around the turn signals on each side. The turn signals have 2 wires on each side that unplug from the harness...

    First & Last performance mods

Friends? What is this thing called "friends"? ;) I'm in a Triumph poor area and since it is running right today switching it may not tell the story. I've ordered the Procom unit and will just carry it it until I lose ignition on one cylinder and then will switch and see what happens...

    First & Last performance mods

Back from the dealer I just returned from trailering the bike to the dealer to solve this problem. The mechanic had a Thruxton and put 40,000 miles on it so is knowlegable on our engine. He rode it 25 miles and of course it was running on both cylinders and all was well. He said that...

    First & Last performance mods

Grease Yes, I dabbed some grease on when I changed the coils, and I wiggled things around yesterday too. While it was hot it was running on only the one cylinder even after sitting for 15 minutes. After I returned with a trailer and started it to drive it up it ran normally again...

    First & Last performance mods

Thanks, Simpson. The bike is out of warranty but I'll be taking it to the dealer to sort things out. So help me, I'm seriously considering a Wee Strom! (Really...) I'm sure it will work out, and it did have the consideration to break down 2 miles from home instead of in the middle of...

    First & Last performance mods

Not so fast It seems all is not well in Scrambler land. I've been having intermittent ignition problems with my right cylinder dropping out for a couple of months. I have replaced both coils and plugs, and also the sensor under the alternator cover with proper air gap. After about...

    First & Last performance mods

I did the Hyperpro progressive fork springs earlier and they made a great difference. I also put on Progressive 412 rear shocks last month. They are better than stock for sure! Joe

    First & Last performance mods

Even going up to the next size jet with air filter made a difference. I think you guys may be right. I like it! I'm riding out to Big Bend National Park this month in current configuration and when I get back I'll need to check the valves and will begin the power hunt. :)

    First & Last performance mods

I just snagged some used TORS off e-bay! I already have a Uni-filter installed and a polaris bellmouth is waiting to be installed. 120 main jets are on order along with needle shims. Then I'll be finished, I promise! No big bore kit, no cams, no full Thunderbike exhaust. None of that...

    My Bonnie is bleeding.

Cam cover bolt washers My Scrambler started weeping too at 7,000 miles. The washers under the cam cover bolts had hardened and lost their resiliancy. I just replaced those and reused the cam cover gasket with a thin smear of RTV on it. No leaks at all now. Joe

    Luggage and Panniers?

Pelican case with Ventura rack I just installed an olive drab Pelican case (size 1500) to use with my Ventura rack. The bracketry was abour $10.00. I used two - 3/4" vinyl coated pipe hanging clamps and 5/16" SS bolts, washers and nuts to hang the case at the two top corners from the...

    I'm down to one bike!

I installed the hyperpro progressive front fork springs. Will probably try the lower end Hagon rear shocks. I'm not in the mood to spend $1000 for Ohlins. That's why I sold the beemer! I need to adjust the new windshield up an inch or two but should be easy to do with some scrap aluminum...

Metzeler Tourances for Scrambler- what sizes are you running?

I'm running Continental Trail Attacks with over 4,500 miles on them and still a good bit of tread left. Happy with them so far. Joe

    I'm down to one bike!

Now that you mention it...I just came in from installing a Parabellum touring shield and LED indicator lights. Next on the list - new rear shocks. It's all good! :) Joe

    I'm down to one bike!

I had a short acquaintance with a BMW R1200ST (traded in a K1200LT on it). I liked the bike but for most of the type of riding I do the Scrambler will keep up with a Beemer except for long Interstate trips. I like the simplicity of the Scrambler. I'm putting on a Parabellum touring shield...

    I'm down to one bike!

The bad news: I sold one of my bikes to pay off some bills and to downsize. The good news: My remaining bike is a Scrambler! Do you think I can survive and even thrive with a Scrambler? I'm betting I can! :ride: I found that I like to have one do it all motorcycle to put all the...

What do YOU guys want if you could have it made?

In addition - a pannier frame set up for the Scrambler that would accept Pelican cases on both sides. Metal Mule is available but cost is out of sight! Joe

    High Maintenance Scrambler!

I did my first oil change today at just shy of 6,000 miles. Now I'll have to watch the oil level stay the same for another 9 months, and will even have to spray something on the chain every week or two. Will my labor never cease? Joe

    Tire Replacement on 06 Scrambler

I have 2,500 miles on my Trail Attacks and they are wearing well. I'm pleased with them. Joe

    Ventura Rack Owners/Users...

The forward mount on both sides goes on the ouside of the shock absorber - between the shock and the upper rear shock mounting bolt. Sorry I don't have any pictures. Joe

    Million $ Highway?

Yes, you should be good with EFI. I've got the last year of carbureted Scrambler so would probably rejet if I were to take it up there. Joe

    Million $ Highway?

How do the Triumph Twins perform at those altitudes? I did this ride on a 2003 Honda Nighthawk once and it really was struggling above 9500 feet. I'd love to go back and ride this on my Scrambler. Joe
