I know we cannot post links to certain websites here but if you go to a popular auction website and search 1968 Vincent Egli Black Shadow 1000 cc you will find one sweet Vincent cafe up for sale. I just had to share this one!

Details on the bike can be seen here --> http://vintagenet.us/phantom/Egli.html

I love it and would mortgage my house for that, but its not an original bike, is it? Its a motor on a custom frame with lots of nice bits but its not a historic bike.

That statement seems awfully close to describing my wife, she's also got lots of nice bits but she's not historic.....hysterical sometimes...:eeek:

I think Fritz Egli is recognized as a manufacturer of motorcycles and when put onto the road they are Eglis in the same way Bimota stands as a manufacturer. I'm sure Vincent purists wouldn't approve.

Not wanting to hijack, but here is another -

52VincentRapideBonhams_right.jpg

Discovered in a garage in Fresno, CA, the Vincent has only 8500 miles on the clock, and is virtually untouched. The 'Chinese Red' paint scheme is very popular with collectors, as the Touring version of the Rapide model has 19" wheels and painted, fully valanced mudguards...more room for paint as opposed to the normal Vincent chrome steel blades. Apparently this machine sat for nearly 50 years, untouched, and will need 'light recommissioning' to make roadworthy...ie, to find out what stopped it back then!
