I've been around there too! A couple of years ago I went with my wife and son to NYC, then drove around NY state in December. Spent some time in Lake Placid as well. Beautiful. I remember thinking at the time that it would be good riding country. Very different from Naples. I have heard that Napoli can be a bit dodgy - but there are some cool places to visit around there. There are some cool Italian bike vendors online, at least they sell some good parts. I just ordered a seat from "Britishracer.com" which is in Italy. I've bought parts from them before. Not the fastest place but then Italy seems to be like that.
