Gator knives

Just makin some gator jaw knives for an upcoming Fur Trading Rendezvous.
These are from the lower jaw of the Florida Alligator. The smaller ones are about 5-6 inches long and the large ones 12-15 inches long. The tooth holes are filled with powdered turquoise and buffed to a mirror finish. These knives can be sharpened to a razor edge. They were used by the Timucuan Indians from the coastal area of Florida and Georgia in the 15-16 century and some are believed to be used by the Seminole tribes.

...Or, "If you have to ask, you can't afford it"?

I like these kits...

I'll hand one of these to my wife, especially when she threatens to cut my nuts off for spending soooo much money and time on my bike...
:whip:
I'll ask her to kiss my Oosik and tell her it's either that or I'm going for a ride...
She always responds, " You'd better wear your jacket, cuz it's going to be chilly."

Yes Brass, they are available.....the large ones are "as is" without sheath and range from $60-$70 and the small ones without sheath are $30.
I do have a few of the smaller ones set up as "neck knives" that is they have a sheath and a leather thong to hang around your neck. That style is common at the rondys and is actually an old tradition among "mountain men"
those would run $40. Of course + shipping to conus.
You may PM me if you wish to continue the discussion. Thanks for the interest.

Cajun jokes.....How can you tell a true Cajun? He can walk up to a 100 acre rice field and tell you, to the teaspoon, how much gravy it takes to cover that much rice.

Nice work, Koi. Wondering where you got the gator jaws?

Or maybe some questions are better unasked?
