That's going to be one great looking bike when your done. Great job on it, looking forward to more pics as you progress.

Just picked up a '73 CB350 twin myself. Impressed with your level of attention to detail. Great work so far. I will be following this build for sure!!

Coming along. I've rebushed the swingarm with new bronze bushings and installed that.

Got some machining to do on the top triple clamp and then I can install the front end.

I'll definitely keep posting dudes.

Should be back to work on it next weekend. I'll post up the swingarm shit when I get a chance.

Thanks for the interest.

What are your plans for the 350 Bullitt? Those are awesome bikes. I hear they have some top end oiling issues so you have to make sure the oil lines are really clean internally? Just passing on what I've heard. I'm not an expert on the 350s.

So I got some new bronze bushings for the swingarm pivot and I put those into place. Removing the old bushings was the second hardest job I've had to do on this bike so far. After a few hours, they were installed and good to go.

I also rebuilt the rear brake with new springs and shoes, and finished putting the motor mounts on.

Later I mocked up the gas tank to see how it would look with the motor installed. I mocked it up a long time ago and couldn't really remember if it looked good or not. The lines of the CB350 tank really work well with the 450. I'm really happy with it!

And this is the proper way to hand off nuts and bolts, FYI.

It's still coming together. I've been a bit sidetracked because the warm weather is here in MA and I'm repainting my Bonneville, and spending some time working on my Z3. I've also got people hitting me up for work all the time now. I have a really small business of sorts where I beadblast or polish parts for people for motorcycles or cars or whatever. I've done a lot of woodworking equipment and stuff too.

Here's a shot of the last job I just finished. It's an engine case for a CRF450 Honda that a cool kid is turning into a supermoto!

I want it stripped as bare as possible. Clip-ons, rear sets, and high mount exhaust. Basically, I want to build Benji's 350 but with a white tank and distressed brown leather seat.

Good looking bike dude. With that tank and the shouldered aluminum wheels it reminds me a lot of a Norton Atlas resto racer.

Good luck. I don't know your background and I realize you might be way more accomplished than me, but if you have any questions let me know. I might be able to help. Just offering it up in case you get stuck.

I loved the BCR stuff when I started this build but the price kept me from pursuing it. I recently heard they need a lot of fine tuning bodywork when you get the parts from Benjie. I don't know from experience, that's just what I heard on a build thread on another site.

His stuff is undeniably perfectly proportioned though.

Great project.

I am totally a convert to the bead blasting. I just took some parts off my Suzuki to my friends shop and he bead blasted them - that is the shit man! Parts come out like new!! Wow!!

So today, being rainy and cold in Massachusetts, I spent some time in the garage installing my headlight and brackets. This job, which would appear to take 20 minutes, was actually a three hour process. This was because the clamps I had for the forks were basically useless until I reshaped them into P-Clamps using a vise, deadblow hammer, and a really great pair of pliers. Fun stuff.

The headlight shell is an old CEV headlight shell that's become kind of popular on vintage builds, and it's been powder coated the same Dark Blue Pearl as the frame. It will have a tachometer installed in the opening when I find one that fits.
