Bonneville loves the fog?

All kidding aside regarding English weather, why does the bike run so great in cool, damp air?

It always runs well but I’ve had a run of cool, foggy mornings here in PA and there is a noticeable difference in performance between the morning ride in and the warmer afternoon ride home. It just purrs in the morning. Even sounds different. Throw in a light drizzle and it's silky smooth.

I don't know. Air is denser? Maybe your bike is running rich under normal conditions and when the denser air is available it runs closer to the right A/F mix?

Hot air expands cold air shrinks therefore you get more cold air in your engine then you can hot air which means better combustion, therefore more bang for the buck.. that is why your bike runs so sweet on nice cool mornings and nights and makes for a great ride and feels a little tired on real hot days, but there is no need to go messing with the mixtures.
