How many turns out are your mixture screws? Are they the same as when you had your 40 pilots in? if so, try turning them in maybe a half turn at a time to see if that eliminates the sluggishness. Letting your Bonneville, or any air cooled engine, idle for more than a few minutes is asking...

I use the Uni number UP6229 which is gray foam, 3" outside diameter, 6" long, and a 2 1/4" ID to clamp on the carb. Fits perfect with my cut down air box. You don't need the one with the additional red sleeve which will inhibit air flow and you won't see it once you have your side covers...

I have a used set of Raasks, about 3000 or so miles on them, that I am going to be selling, but I haven't found a box to fit them for shipping. Will put them in the Classified section with photos when I have a box and can ship them if anyone is interested..
