Other triple trees that work

Anyone know if the thruxton yoke is a straight swap? Bonneville's triple tree looks like arse, and I'm switching from bars to clip-ons.

Any insight is appreciated!

I got mine from British Customs, but it has holes in it for bar risers. They make one without the holes, but it also has no holes for mounting gauges. I'd check eBay for Thruxton front end takeoffs; sometimes you can find a whole front end for really cheap and you might contact the seller and negotiate for just the parts you need for an even cheaper price. Here's mine:

I like that clamp so much that I decided to ditch the clipons in favor of a set of black anodized bar risers from British Customs and a black powdercoated set of 1" cafe bars from eBay. Will post pics when I get everything installed. I'm sending your stuff to you tomorrow, by the way. I've been out of town but will get everything boxed up tonight.

because the Thrux triples have a slight negative rake built into them and if you try and use only the top, the fork holes won't align correctly.

of course, since the Thruxon triples have a negative rake built in, when you change over you will change the bike's geometery.
Is that bad? Depends on what you want.

Shoot!
With all do respect, I must agree as well as disagree...
I too disliked the Bonnie triple tree look...
But if you arn't looking for the "Clip-On" style , and or lack of comfort for your style then you should consider my option that took me a while, with the help of many to create a unique functional front end and triple tree with a custom dash board that just may rival most every thing "non clip-on"...
I was waiting to post on this mod as I know a post w/o pictures is shit...
Camera got wet in a rain soaked ride and other mods have put purchasing a new camera on on the back burner "till pay day Friday...
I'll post photo's this weekend...
:mad2:
I need a new camera!!!

Either that or I should have my son bring back my video camera and post a vid!

Come to think of it that's a great idea!
Show and tell w/ no OOP exspence to save monies for the next round...
Got to get my priorities in order here...

Best and be patient,

Allin

if you think about it, it makes sence. The frame is the same but the rake/trail (offset also) is different. They used an old HD trick and drilled the holes for the forks out of square. Much easier and cheaper than making a different frame, or if your customizing after the fact, cutting the frame tweeking the headstock angle(usually to the + side) and rewelding.

Both Brit Customs and TPUSA make aftermarket triples if you want. I'd go with Carlos and TPUSA.

O.K. Craig and Adrian...
As promissed...
I just ran next door and borrowed my neighbors camera and took a few quick shots.. Pictures, that is!
Thanks to Seth, w/ his help, I utilized his "Thruxton Track Bracket" for the speedo to get rid of the idiot indicator lights w/ the exception of the oil pressure indicator that I relocated to the fork top bolt. (drilled a 19/32 hole in the bolt, filed the indents, ran the wire up the center fork yoke hole.)
Bingo!
I know if my high beam is on (it's brighter), and when I'm in neutral (let the clutch out and if she moves I'm still in gear!)
I have a automatic turn signal canceller called a "Thumb."
Relocated the rectomfire, (Thanks Sweat!) to the rear BrCu air box tail...
It hits 115 degrees here in Tucson w/ no problems w/ it this summer...
O.K. (So I did a wiring diet too at the same time!)
Polished up the top triple tree, dogbone and had a buddy (Tucson "Derby Boy" Gizmo) that made me the speedo risers for free...
Well, I traded a valve cover for it, O.K.!
Seth's were cool but I wanted the oval look to match the mounting surface.
Polished fork legs, (Thanks John, ThuxtonUp)
Axle nut covers...
Oh yeah and my stainless steel speedo bucket from our cats water bowl!
(Sorry Harpo!)
Dremels work!
The cat sure is thirsty now!
I didn't want to post picks B4 the front end was done as I have Bela Corse polished aluminum head light ears that I will drill out to mout the NB Lucas turn signals w/ the tail light / signals...

Oh yeah,
Winter mod when I do the steering head bearings w/ tapered bearings, the lower triple tree will be chromed...
As thay say, "A work in progress."
I may have left something out...
I 'll remember tomorrow after work B4 I have too much Guiness!
Pictures may not the best, but you get the idea...
"Little Cruiser Goodwood Green-Chili Dancing Machine"...
73 RWHP to boot!
