Jed? Is 'at you Jed Clampett? I heard Ellie May had one of those new-fangled Triumphs...
I've seen/known about Ventura racks for about 18 months...but that has got to be the most STUFF I've ever seen strapped to one. How hard was it to ride the bike? It looks sort of like a beanbag with a clutch...
And what did you do to make the solo seat's rack work? Bracing on the underside?
lol...yea, I got quite a few looks everwhere I went.
I didn't do any bracing to the Solo seat at all.
The Ventura "Rack" is supported by the brackets that bolt up to the top of the Shock and to the top of the frame under the seat pan.
It's really solid when all tightened up.
The bike rode really very smooth. Pulled the 8% grades I traveled up during parts of the journey with ease.
In the curves nothing shifted. I had everything cynched as tight as tight could be
I'm not a heavy guy so it was like the extra weight of all the gear gave the rear suspension and tire some better traction.
You can't see it in the pic, but had more stuff strapped to the other side
on the rack rail.
Also, if you look closely, the Tour bag (which had alot of heavy stuff in it) that is sitting on the Solo seat rack is directly over the rear axle....makes a big difference in handling when loaded with this much gear....
