I think the size of the town has a lot to do with how much of a pain errands like that can be.
My town is about 15,000 (not including the 4000 college students) and I actually enjoy going to the post office, DMV, hardware store, drop off the water bill, pick up softener salt, etc.
Usually only 1-2 other people in line any of those places, and often it's someone I know a little and haven't seen in awhile so it's nice to catch up.
Going to the Walmart the next town over though, is a COMPLETE pain and I always feel like I need a tetanus booster and a shower after I go there. oke:
