Swapping stock footpegs side to side - who's done it?

I read somewhere that swapping the stock pegs side for side lowers 'em a little. Who's done it and by how much does it lower them? I doesn't look like a biggie to do, just want to see if it's even worth it. I would like a little more legroom, and reduced ground clearance doesn't bother me.

Did this last year on my Bonnie, lowers maybe 3/4", don't remember exactly.

Done in a couple minutes - and free. Just try it. Only minus is the feeler pegs - they now face forward. I just unscrewed mine.
