1. was very surprised by how loud the TORS pipes are particularly when reving (even very slight revving) she is loud to me and really "cracks" when reved....after everything I have read on forums about the TORS being too quiet I was expecting to be dissapointed....I wasn't....I wouldn't want to go any louder...you guys that are using the pipes that are supposed to be louder than the TORS must need earplugs and deaf neighbors.
2. I did find the throttle to be "snatchy" with TORS/Remap.
3. I was extremely impressed with how torquey she felt and will really have to learn how to take off slowly and smoothly....with very little throttle she could easily jump up on her back wheel and explode away from you.
4. I am a very happy camper.
5. Love the sound of the TORS...if any new buyers are worried that these pipes might be too sedate ...don't worry...they sound great.

Glad you got a chance to ride a great bike. Now go and redline that bitch and let her breath some spring air. The Tors on my '02 were too quiet when I bought her in '04 and I had to change out the pipes for some custom pipes. Now she growls.

Ted,
I have an '09 T-100 with TORS. They do bark when opening the bike up like you say but are very sedate out of the throttle which isn't a bad thing when cruising so on balance I like them. The TORS remap is said to be snatchey by about 3/4 of the guys that have that done when they have their TORS installed. I have stuck with the factory map with the TORS because my bike's throttle response is very good and didn't want a snatchey throttle. One gent on here reported that the Arrow 2 into 1 re-map with TORS has much friendlier throttle response than the map that was theoretically developed for the TORS pipes that apparently Triumph didn't get right. Consider contacting your dealer and asking about this remap explaining this issue which is reported to be common.
Hope that helps,
George

Hey Biker7, thanks for that info about the Arrow 2-1 remap...if after a little practice I find that I can't synchronise the clutch and throttle for smoother take offs I will indeed look into the Arrow 2-1 map....only problem is I'm a 1000 kilometers away from the nearest Triumph dealer...any recommendations?.....don't know how hard it would be to take off the ecu and fedex it to the dealer for remap and then re-install...don't even know if this is an option...if it is it would certainly solve the remap question for owners who are a long way from dealers....Triumph dealers are very 'thin on the ground' in Eastern Canada.

A good question Ted. Most of us are pretty stuck with getting to a dealer. Unclear if sending the ECM would work as it may have to feedback to the bike's sensors and use its power supply to reflash. A good work around honestly is a Power Commander. You can disable the AI with a PC as well. No trips to the dealer and the one gent I know who knows these bikes better than most says the drivability with his 50th and a custom map he made with NH Togas is perfect. I am on the fence about having the dealer perform the reflash because I might want the AI off at some point and the PC offers more tunability if changing the engine config a bit, i.e. big bore kit and 813 cams.
Why don't you call your dealer and see if they can reflash it by fedex'ing the ECM to them and see what they say?
Best,
George

I like the fact that you are impressed with your new found performance. Although I don't really think it could easily jump on the back wheel and explode away from you. My 07 runs pretty strong with open exhaust and rejet. I can get on it pretty hard off the line and I get a little tire chirp and barely pull the front wheel up. But I applaud your enthusiasm.:motorbike2:

Derby...If I revved her and dumped the clutch the bike would 30ft away from me in an instant and I would be sitting on my ass where she dumped me on take off...

Not if you hang on. Gotta have a tight grip when ya pull that stuff. I take it you are having fun.

Although my Black isn't EFI, I love my TORs. I posted a walkaround on YOUTUbe, sent to my cuz in Prague (an expat). He said it was like motorcycle porn. I told em all things motorcycle are slightly porn.

Ditto, whacked long TORS on the BA07. Sure have a presence on the tarmac now, thinking about putting plugs in my ears to dampen the sound a tad. Sweet sound but not impressed with our local T dealer, pipes leaking, engine popping..... so got Red (Local Guru of big twins) to sort it. Yet to hear a T865 engine sing better.
