Finally... fork ear ignition port plugs... machined from billet 6061... clean, contoured, easy install. First small batch going into finishing soon, will be
black ano, black powder, or automotive polyurethane... or may try 'em all.
Can polish out for those with chome fork ears... price TBD.

Bonafide,

Been looking into those as well... can't decide if I want to go
all out and do a perfectly contoured matched set of R/H & L/H cast aluminum caps - that would not just fit in the void, but match all the compound curves in the stamped recesses... which would be trick & slick, for sure... or just do a flat cap, simple & cheap, but definitely the easy way out... :D

Cheers,

You have a way with metal D9. ;)

It's like machine shop porn ....................

The brackets you did for LS1 were about as basic as I've ever seen you do but it's oh so perfect!!!! My wife thinks I'm nuts for going on and on about a "stupid piece of metal" ............ :D

DavidC,

Appreciate the feedback, thanks.

Finished all metal prep on the first batch of these this afternoon... going
into powdercoat late next week... fingers crossed this latest powdercoating
outfit has the finish quality I'm looking for... the last one didn't, and stripping
powdercoat ain't much fun...

Cheers,

:headbang2: Outstanding D9...has there been any discussion on relocating the Thrux Ignition on this forum anywhere dude?

Brett,

see post # 2... and then check out post #9... apparently the Bonnville
frame already has the holes in the right location to put the ignition
down low...

As originally by sweatmachine:

"Check out thrux351's 'free' key location mod, the holes are already on the frame (go look!) and all you need is 2x self-tapping sheetmetal screws and 2x 1/4" spacers to go behind the ignition to allow for the wires. I plan on doing this to mine:"

How are the turn signal caps looking?
Lookin' good on the ignition blank too!
(I haven't decided if I'm changing the headlight bracket yet, but if I don't I'll certainly want one of those!)
Thanks, -Kris
