Pipe bluing (not what you think)

Here's the deal. My pipes aren't getting very blue at the very front where they bolt to the cylinder, but they are REALLY blue behind the little knee heat shield where the little kink is. What's up with that?

BTW, for all of those that are bagging on me in another thread for not running the bike hard enough to blue the pipes, I've been flogging the thing since I got it. I've put 1000 miles on it in 5 weeks, with some pretty good extended runs with it pinned. SO THERE!! (J/K)

Really, what's up with the dark blue at the kink and not at the cylinder exit?

It means your pipes are from another galaxy.

Well, at that point, the pipes have the hot engine on one side and a shield on the other, preventing airflow onto them. The kink probably slows down the gas flow also.

Not sure about the other galaxy thing - mine are from Andromeda and are normal.
I got them because the shipping is cheaper than from the US and their economy is in better shape.

Blued is cool. It's a machine, not a showroom piece.

I've certainly got no problem with them turning blue (I kinda like it!), just curious why they don't right out of the engine but do at the kink.

when headers kink and or meet , turbulence means more heat.
