Well, here's a few from the Sidecar/Trike show at the Daytona Flea Market, it's an annual affair that's been going for 11 years, I've been twice...this year seemed really inundated with exhibitors....apparently the organizers went national with the adverts and there were a whole bunch more outfits this year, a huge number of trikes....yikes!!
Quite a few of the regulars were still in evidence with the Ural rigs....and I'll guarantee you there were some really crusty greybeards lurking around....
It was fun, the ride was about 200 miles both ways so not so bad, the traffic around Daytona was unbelievable.....sheer masses of bikers everywhere with plenty of police presence to monitor traffic and a few "neck downs" where congestion was handled very well by the Gendarmes....I had to go interstate for two exits to get to the show, not my idea of fun, but the rest of the ride was back roads and quite pleasant actually.
The trophy was funny, I was the only Triumph at the show and the award was a "shoe in" for sure, there were some beautiful rigs there and a few rat rigs as well...the trikes I'm not wild about but because there were so many they actually ran out of room and had to double stack the sidecar rigs in order to get the trikes, some of which were quite long, a place to park.....
It was a warm day, in the mid-80's so there was plenty of pulchritudinous flesh to be seen, the people watching was great.....all in all a good way to spend a Thursday, a nice ride and well worth the experience....oh, stopping for gas becomes an extended Q&A session with interested people.....it takes half an hour to gas up.....but that's part of the deal I guess....
