turn the key and the lights go on, hit the starter button and everything goes black
off comes the seat, a meter shows 0 volts at the battery??
hooked a charger; volts going in at 13.8, turn on the key and everything lights up again.
take of the charger= no volts again.
take the battery out and charge
charges to 13.8 and stays at 12.8 for an hour??
put it back in the bike= nothing??/
stuck the meter on it again; no volts, then a spark (literaly)
the positive lead at the battery is making an intermitent contact, took it off + wire brush= all is well
weird as it ran fine the day before :chin:

Welcome to Triumph world Doc, they're like a finely tuned racehorse, finicky at times but thoroughbreds to the end....glad it wasn't more complex....

it's strange that this seems to be a common occurance on the Bonnevilles. does Triumph use an unsuitable material for the cable terminations? I have not previously heard of another brand of bike, including my Meriden Triumph, having this problem
