The EU commision has for some years been working on a new directive recarding motorcycles - making life harder for us european riders.

A good thing that I've been a member of the Norwegian MC Union, which in turn is a member of Fema, both does a good job @ lobbying towards the most imposing changes.

Some of the proposals:
- Mandatory ABS on all bikes over 125cc, integral brakes or abs on smaller bikes/scooter. ABS will have to be always-on.
- Harsh restrictions on engine and drivetrain mods
- stricter requirements for emission compliance - for up to 50000 kms.
- Onboard OBD to monitor performance and emissions
- manuf's will have to state fuel consumtion/CO2 emission figures

Good lord.. Why not just mandate that you can't ride anything but a scooter, and that has to be driven in a plastic bubble?

sounds like one will have to buy up some older bikes to mod the hell out of when/if the new rules comes into effect

Don't you just love big government, taking care of us. :mad2:

No...I do not. It's like when it gets hot out, the gov't thinks we are so stupid that we have to be told, 'that when you get hot (it's summer after all) to drink some water and sit in the shade'.
