New map

I had the map in my 11 Tiger 800 updated today
part of my preparations for my ride to deal's gap.
The dealer installed the latest "arrow" map because I have an aftermarket silencer.
The new map SUCKS!
the hesitation and flat spot off a closed throttle is pronounced and dangerous.
All popping in the cat is gone but its unridable
I'll have them install the latest normal map.

I don't understand why a dealer would do that. Just because an "Arrow" is an aftermarket silencer does not mean it will work well for any aftermarket silencer. Seems like they were just guessing/hoping it would work. Hope you are able to pay a fair price for their "work" (ie. experimentation) :)

I have a Leo Vince silencer.
With the db killer installed
The arrow map does not work with it
The bike is unridable.
My hands were numb in 10 miles
I'll get the normal map loaded.

Loaded the latest standard map this morning.
The low end power and response is back along with some popping in the cat on trailing throttle.
Still a bit of "lag" immediately off a closed throttle or am I just paying attention.
That was a waste of$50

The throttle bodies need to be balanced.
The mechanic could not tell me the numbers when he checked them with his service computer.
He says there is a sensor malfunction.
So are the throttle bodies out of synch or is there a bad sensor or???
I'm reluctant to let them take it apart.
Will they have the sensor in stock?
Very doubtful
I'm going to have them verify the failed sensor first.the computer should tell them which sensor is acting up

I'm considering getting dealertool and doing it myself.
But I'll also need the external fuel line and wire harness.
This is getting expensive

I'm going to bring the bike to a different dealer for the throttle body balance and map update.
I'm not getting a warm fuzzy feeling from the local guy.
There are3 other dealers within an hour's drive
The local guy installed the wrong map
The bike stumbles off a closed throttle which indicates a weak mixture.
I hope that the other dealer can find the correct map
I'm not sure if I will go back to the local guy and ask for a refund. He charged me $50 to screw up my bike

I'm bringing the bike to another dealer this week.
It's the dealer I bought the bike from.
I bought 5 new triumphs from them and they have treated me well.
When the new dealer opened up only a few miles from me I figured things were getting better.
I probably will not be using the local guy for service .
They only have 1 Triumph mechanic and it appears that he is stretched thin.
The other dealer has 4 mechanics.
They scheduled an appointment in only 2 days.
The local guy is out 2 weeks+

I took the bike to performance cycle in Shrewsbury ma today.
They fixed it.
The throttle bodies were NOT out of balance.
They loaded a better map. Did a full scan and a forced adaption.
Cost was half of what the local guy charged.
The engine is noticeably smoother and the low speed response is perfect.
I'm bringing my new thruxton to them tommorrow for a scan
