Did you use the stock seat pan?
Yes, just shaved about 1 inch off the sides to make it look thinner.

Did you staple your new cover back on?
I attempted something similar in the past but couldn't find short enough staples. I.e. the shortest staples I could find for my staple gun are longer than what the factory used and so will poke through to the outside of the pan.
Yes I stapled it to the bottom with 5/16 staples. None poke throw, already checked.
I also put a thin layer spray adhesive on the top of the foam.
