elevation?? My slightly educated guess, at or around sea level would be 40-45 mains with 1 shim and a little richer on the idle mix.

I think you mean 40 for the pilots not the mains
go 125 to 130 mains. Stay with 40 pilots
2 1/2 to three turns out on the air screw
one shim on the needle

JBG you are an asshole, but that was good man, very good. I'm a regular coffee guy, and i must say there is better than the bucks out there but, as for REGULAR COFFEE and not the latte frap a crap bullshit, the regular coffee is pretty damn tasty!

yea that sounds right, i would buy 130, 135, 140 mains and start at the top and work down, also after you get the mains set then try a shim. the only real way to tell though is dyno tesing but that should get you relatively close

I tried the single shim under the Thruxton needles when I had an air box and 125's going throught my Norman Hyde T120's and could never hit the red line.
When I chopped the air box I put 140's in and after riding around for a couple of weeks I removed the Shims and now she red lines easily and feels alot better.
