Hello, new on this site...help w/ air box modifications

Just got my new to me 2001 Bonneville that is/was all stock. Just ordered the new D&D all stainless dual pipes from newbonneville.com. I also ordered K&N filters as I can't see spending 300 on an air box elimination kit. Any suggestions or pictures on how to modify the stock air box for the K&N filters?

Welcome shanerides,
You'll find heaps of threads on the air box removal/modification but you've gotta search. What concerns me about the NARK kit, does it provide adequate protection from water coming up off the rear tyre? The rear of the stock air box forms part of mudguard (fender).
