how do i take off grips from the handle bars? think i remember my father using soapy water...

You could probably use soapy water or WD-40 or anything slick, once you slide something under them. Compressed air with a long slender air squirter works well.

Solvents in WD-40 release the adhesive allowing easy removal.

I squirted some Windex down the grip and did some twist/pull action. Worked just fine.

and when you put the new ones on...wrap the left 5"-6" with a few tight;y wound wraps of electrical tape...then roll/push the new grip on...no hairspray...no glue...no mess! Works great and they won't slip off!! But they will come off easily when you need to!

I switch bars all the time and only have one set of grips. WD-40 is the best.

I use WD 40 off and carb cleaner or spray paint to put them on
carb cleaner gets the WD 40 off and makes the grip slide on easy
