I went to a BMWMOA rally in Colorado Springs one year. Camped in a cow pasture and the hot water for showers were buckets you dipped into wood heated horse troughs and poured into gravity fed basins hooked to hoses.

There was a lecture called "wheel bearings flambe".

At that point in time I decided a cheap motel was preferable to roughing it.
