AI removal

Keeping in mind that I have no Triumph experience with Air Injection (yet).

I've removed the air injection from my last 2 bikes, 2005 Yamaha Road Star Warrior and 2006 Suzuki DL1000. Both of these bikes are fuel injected and neither have had an issue. From what I understand (and can see from drawings in the manual) the air injection has nothing to do with the fueling of the motor. Basically this is just a pump that takes clean air from the airbox and injects it into the exhaust ports under certain conditions.

Removing the air injection should be no different on the EFI bike than it is on a carbureted bike. The air is not injected into the combustion chamber so it should not require any remapping either.

Of course I reserve the right to be wrong but this has been my experience.

Triumph offers 2 separate tunes for the Speed Triple if the Ai is removed
there is an Arrow tune with and without AI
and a TORS tune with and without AI
must be something different somewhere?

If the EFI bikes have a CO2 sensor, the removal of the air injector will have some effect on the fuel map...EGT's might be altered with or w/o the AI...If the fuel map monitors this, then it may dump additional fuel to COOL the Ex Gas Temps....
