865 cams in a 790?

why would you want to make less power?

the ideal setup is 790 cams in an 865. All factory 865 cams are pretty lame, especially compared to the early 790 cams.

What's the EFI cam like? The EFI bikes make the torque of the 865 with the hp of the 790 so is that down to the cam or the EFI? Or both?

You tried 865 cams in a 790 or 790 cams in a 865?
I know the 790 cams are preferred.
I have an opportunity to trade a set of 865 cams for '03 790 cams. All i have to do is install them. I just want to know if the 790 will run ok with 865 cams. The guy is gonna sell the bike so he doesn't care as long as it runs ok.
