09 Salt flat pics

To many people, not enough bikes!!

Question? Does the salt surface increase the rolling resistance of the tires over other surfaces. Looking at the pics of the tires throwing salt out of them while underway made me wonder.

Grumpy, I don't know about increased rolling resistance, but i can say it feels real greasy. You can't just pin it and wind thru the gears, you have to modulate the throttle. I did not do a timed run, but from the highway to the base camp is a few miles, and I might have opened it up a little...

I wanted to go this year, but work has been slim, and I am working now.

I think Revolt planned to go, I hope he is having a great time!

If you do a bunch of runs without washing it, does the bike get quicker coz it's lighter due to the salt eating bits of it?

Cheers,

Pikey.

I've got a buddy from film school that lives in Austin...think he's boom op on a shoot right now. Wonder if you're on the same set. His name is James Pound.

Thuxxxx....great pics.....Matt Capri told me even after washing the crap out of his ride that mo's later bits were falling apart. He told me he was pulling nuts and bolts and replacing as fast as he could.

Awesome picture show!
That's cool that Pops did 157 mph on that old Vincent.
How fast did some of the New Bonnevilles go?
