    CNN/AP: Bin Laden Dead

One phrase i came across, with the death of Bin laden, was ''the law of unintended consequences''. When Bin Laden started his evil scheme he set in motion a lot of things, that he and his partners in crime never considered. Some of those consequences have meant heartache for many people across...

    Scrambler Bliss, Reprise...

Glad you are enjoying the beast! I have also seen a slightly larger screen on the Scram. (was it a 'Spitfire' screen?) and that didn't look too silly. The fly screen is better than no screen, I use the 'Dart' screen which is similar to the stock Triumph one , but a bit cheaper. 2 up they'll...

    Scrambler and Bonneville

Any bike is a compromise to an extent. I've had my Scrambler for over 3 years now and not one small or large thing has gone wrong with it. I bought it as a 2 year old machine with only 2,000 miles on it. It has now done 12,500 miles; so I've done 10,500 miles in 3 years. I don't use it from...

    CNN/AP: Bin Laden Dead

Homefront, no problem man, I am glad you have found them useful. We celebrate an evil man coming to justice; but of course we still think and pray for those left after 9/11. Let us work against evil and darkness wherever we find it. Safe riding and enjoy your Triumph ! Casper :)

    CNN/AP: Bin Laden Dead

Osama Bin Laden was an evil man, he bought death and heartache to thousands. When you see video of him, he looks like a Muslim holy man, maybe even a man of peace; but he was motivated by a desire to humiliate the West and make that whole region of the Middle East a Muslim Caliphate. But he was...

    Fuel capacity and warning light

Just for the record (maybe unless you can better this?), I nearly made 160 miles before going over to reserve yesterday. This has been my best mpg so far. I ride a 2006 Triumph Scrambler. Not sure what this means exactly for mpg, but it seems quite good to me and I was riding it to enjoy...

    I like it!

Yeah he did a nice job , but I asked him about tyres, I use the Metzeler Toruances now, much better than the stock OE. Casper

    Fuel capacity and warning light

I can get 140 and sometime up to 150 miles before my engine splutters and I have to go to reserve. On the 2006 model there is no fuel warning light. The tank takes about 16.6 litres of fuel or 4.4. US gallons. Casper

    My 2006 Scrambler

Nice bike. I like how some people keep their Scrambler mint and others just get it muddy and filthy! I have a range of Scramblers on my blog which is dedicated to the Scrambler. http://bonnevilles.webs.com/yourscrambler.htm Lovely pictures. Plus you must get nice weather where you...

Can you pop a wheelie on a scrambler?

My 2006 Scrambler is probably 100 lbs heavier than it ought to be and Mc Queen's Triumph was indeed probably about 100 lbs lighter and a bit lower than the present Scrambler's. If you look on my blog website below you'll see how someone shaved off a lot of weight and improved the beast. I...

Bonny Rival Kawasaki W800 is Real

Basically, in the UK, Jap bikes became popular because our British made bikes were becoming outdated and unreliable. The Japanese refined and made reliable the motorcycle. UK bike makers were resting on their laurels and gradually the Japanese stole the show. Today its different. Most...

Any advice for a Brit. in the Canadian Rockies?

Thanks guys, by the way, if you EVER go to Vancouver, beware the Grouse Mountain and the Grouse Grind! My wife and I set out thinking it was a normal trail. It is an one way stairway to argggghhhhhh.....it is 2,800 feet of keep fit Canadian style. We did it in a respectable 2 hours...

Any advice for a Brit. in the Canadian Rockies?

Thanks for the advice guys. I saw one Triumph in all my time in Alberta and BC ! It was a Bonnie (T100) in Stanley Park Vancouver. Seemed to be more cruisers, HDs than any other type of bike. We had 5'' of snow just outside Jasper and then a few nice sunny days too. Scenery and wildlife were...

    Battle of Britain 1940

Thank you Ace & Ivar. When you look at modern aeroplanes, these old 1940s aircraft seem ancient, just shows you how long they've been around and how far technology has moved onwards e.g. the Eurofighter. Yes the later Spitfires were a world away from the 1940 models. Mind you if the...

    Battle of Britain 1940

Well, yes they gave the Luftwaffe its first real opposition. Prior to this the Luftwaffe (Spanish civil war, Poland, France, Netherlands etc) had ruled almost unchallenged. The RAF certainly blocked their image as unbeatable ubermenschen! If you look at the figures, the Germans certainly came...

    Battle of Britain 1940

In the UK there is a lot about the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. The battle was a bloody nose for the Luftwaffe following this they decided not to bother invading Blighty and Hitler and his merry chums decided in 1941 to go East into the USSR - big mistake for them of course...

    Babes on errrr.....bicycles

Chris, thanks for the advice, especially on cycle sitting / riding position. I am using the standard Kona seatpost with the Brooks (flyer B17 model) and it seems OK. I have probably only done about just under 100 miles, the tip about not giving it too much leather dressing will be taken on...

    Babes on errrr.....bicycles

Chris, most of my riding on a bicycle is solo, but a few biking buddies also have bicycles, so we're going for a hybrid ride in October. I am keeping a log of miles covered, only done just under 100 miles on my Brooks saddle, 400 more until its 'broken in' eh? Here is one for the...
