Rear wheel barely clearing ground when on centre stand

I haven't changed anything at all. The tyres are newish, but they were changed 3 months ago. I've not even put air in them in the last fortnight (which could also have had a minimal effect). However, I've just been out and back, put it back on stand, and now all is fine. :) I can only assume...

Rear wheel barely clearing ground when on centre stand

Thanks for the suggestion, but I doubt it, as the carpet is very thin, and appears to be as level as ever. However, I'm planning on popping out on the bike tomorrow, so will deliberately park it in a slightly different place afterwards, to see if there's any difference. :d

Rear wheel barely clearing ground when on centre stand

Hi all, In the past my rear wheel, with the bike on the centre stand, has always spun freely. Today I noticed that it's ever so slightly dragging on the carpet (yeah, carpet in the garage!). The wheel will still spin, but with a slight rubbing noise, which was what attracted my attention to...

    HealTech gear indicator

This doesn't answer your question, I'm afraid, but I had one of those on my last bike - a Bandit 1250. Because it was faired (and there was lots of plastic on it) it was a simple task to hide the wiring from one end to the other. I'm interested in the answer to your question, but even if it is...

Welcome, mate. Tuesday's not far away! When I bought mine I had to wait 10 long days to pick it up!

    My first countersteering

This thread makes an interesting read. When I started biking in the late 1970s I don't think the word 'countersteering' existed; I certainly never heard it used. Good riders just learnt to do it sub-consciously. Having come back to riding in the last decade, I can now exploit it more because...

    Completed 2003 Bonneville T100 Build

Great looking bike. (And, as others have said, great garage!)

More first impressions - fuel consumption, etc.

I clearly stand corrected here. If I use my usual conversion program (or indeed the conversion facility in Windows calculator) they both confirm your figures, which are obviously right. Yet when I ask them both to convert a UK gallon direct to a US gallon they both say that 1 UK = 1.2 US...

My calculation was only after one tankful - over time it'll no doubt settle to a more accurate figure.

More first impressions - fuel consumption, etc.

1 UK gallon = 1.2 (+ a tiny bit) US gallons. i.e. the US gallon is 20% larger. So you can go 20% further per US gallon (but the tank will still only hold the same amount, of course, wherever you are!) ;)

More first impressions - fuel consumption, etc.

Well, I've had the bike for a little over 2 weeks now, and have had a chance to brim the tank again after some 130 miles (light came on after 108). A quick calculation show that I'm getting about 61 miles to the gallon (it'll be more accurate after more tanksful) but I have to say I'm very...

    First impressions

Possibly something to do with the fact that I'm not in the least mechanically minded. I just ride the bike, and pay someone else to tinker with it when it needs it. Always have done. (I've got skills, but they lie elsewhere!)

    First impressions

Well I've had the Bonnie T100 for nearly a week now, and done 100 miles or so on it. I read comments about the poor stock rear suspension but I've no issue with it. And some say the seat is hard. Again, no problem for me. It's very different from my previous bike - a Bandit 1250 - but I...

    Triboseat ?

Does anyone have a pillion Triboseat cover on their bike? (Its that non-slip thing that works a treat - had one on my old bike.) They come in all different sizes for different makes/models of bike, but they don't do one for the Bonneville. Has anyone found that another model fits well...

    Hi from Wales

Hi there. Greetings from north Wales. (My user-name, Beiciwr = 'Biker' in Welsh.) Picked up my Bonneville T100 today! (3 years old, 1800 miles on the clock). For the last 6 years I've had a Bandit 1250 (and various other bikes back in the late 70s/early 80s), but now got the chance to...
