    EfI Bonnie hard to start

My start problem has vanished so far this summer. Our summer has been hot, at least for us. nighttime 17 /18 degrees C, daytime 22/26 degrees C. Like any problem you don't miss it when it goes away. But indications are this fail to start problem is affected by ambient temperatures. Anyone else...

    EfI Bonnie hard to start

I've been trying the quick start method, and so far it has always started first go. Someone else on the web suggested it. Basically I hit the starter button the moment the tach and speedo needles hit the max of their start up sweep. This is well before the EFI has finished priming. I suspect it...

    EfI Bonnie hard to start

Took my Bonnie back to the dealer today. They have seen this fault before in a number of bikes. Basically it is a battery problem. With normal batteries, as you start the motor, added to the drain by the fuel injection and other electrical items, the voltage drops below the minimum voltage and...

    EfI Bonnie hard to start

Sounds exactly like the problem I'm having. I found the best way to get the starter motor to kick in after the first failed attempt is a gentle twist on the throttle. Have you tried that? and does it cure the problem you are having?

    EfI Bonnie hard to start

Thanks for your feed back. By the way it behaves I'm erring towards thinking it is low voltage on the ECU. This helps explain why it is random, more likely to occur in the morning and why the strange fix works. The strange fix is as I mentioned is to open the throttle a little to get the starter...

    EfI Bonnie hard to start

I've got a 2011 EFI SE Bonnie traveled 6,000km. Since new and every so often if just doesn't want to start. The dealer has had a look for the problem and hasn't been able to trace the fault. Last time they suggested it could be the battery, so I changed the battery, cleaned the contacts and...

    TOR pipes popping

I'm interested n what other people's have experienced. I have a 2011 Bonneville SE. Several weeks ago I had TOR's fitted and remapped by the local Triumph dealer. A week later I resealed the exhaust to the muffler in case that was causing the popping with no change. The sound of the TOR's is...

    New Bonneville starting problems

Normally I start with no throttle. I've worked out that giving a little throttle when the fault occurs cures the problem. Thanks for your comments.

    New Bonneville starting problems

Update on fault searching I disconnected the battery and cleaned the contacts. Went to start and same problem. Checked the battery voltage. 12.8 volts with no load. With the key on 12.2 volts. I then left the ignition on for about 10 minutes to put some drain on the battery and it stayed at...

    New Bonneville starting problems

I've got a 2011 Bonneville with just over 2,000 km on the clock. Every so often it is reluctant to start. The starter motor engages as normal, a solid engage no clicking like when you have a flat battery, but it fails to turn the motor over. This is normally repeated for three or four attempts...

How do you get a shine back in the Mags?

Hi I've got a Bonneville SE. I was wondering what was the best way to get a shine back into the alloy wheels and engine covers?.

    Official "Bonneville Seat" thread

The bike is spotless because it is only 3 weeks old and no blue on the exhausts yet and only 1000 km on the clock. Just moved across from a V-Strom to a bike better suited to my age and short legs. My wife describes the seat padding as comfortable, definitely softer than the stock seat, but not...

    Official "Bonneville Seat" thread

Fitted a Burton to my SE Recently purchased a SE. Found the stock seat way too hard so I fitted a Burton DS003A seat. Must admit it isn't as flashy as some seats on this thread and I'm envious on how well some people polish their bikes. But while I just enjoy riding and admire a sparkling...
