    Best Scrambler suspension mods?

Exactly the same experience, not surprising since we live in the same neck of the woods. Without making any criticism of the YSS product, the local backup was not great when I was buying, there was no service backup, springs were a generic one size fits all & not tailored to my weight & any...

    Compare the scrambler

Glad to help, I got 4500km out of the B'stones, 5500 out of Anakees but there was a lot of unsealed roads along the way. Pirellis were almost 10000, Avons a little more again & currently a lot of my riding is done in the company of my wife who rides at nana pace. I'd rate the Pirellis...

    Compare the scrambler

G'day mate, since we are from the same neck of the woods my opinions may be of some relevance. I ride with a group of mates whose bikes range from cruisers through the likes of Tigers old & new, Beemers including an R12RS, Hornets , ST 1300, Dukes,Bonnies, pretty much everything but full on...

    Rusty Rims??

I had my rims replaced under warranty but they were way worse than that & it was a battle to get Triumph to agree. I suggest you wire brush then treat with a water based rust converter, then apply something like LPS 3 Premier Rust Inhibitor or CRC Natural Lanocote. Both products remain...

    Rusty Rims??

When you change tyres lift the rubber covering the spoke nipples , that is where the real rust starts. If rust is there & you are not covered by warranty, start treating the problem sooner rather than later

    Best mods for a Scrambler

Bloody good feedback Aussie. I run Distanzia's & they are excellent, have a set of eo7's for the rough stuff but would have to say they do not inspire confidence on wet tarseal, guess thats not such a problem in Q'ld. Best dirt set up seems to be TKC front & eo9 rear, & take it gently on wet...

    Some doubts about Scrambler

Sorry mate , there are no more. The last 200km were in pouring rain on tarseal so the worst of the mud was washed off, it only stopped raining when I got into AK ,hence the wet ground in the photo. I'll try to work out how to put a link to the Advrider ride report tonight, but it was so wet &...

    Some doubts about Scrambler

Packed with more than enough gear for 4 days away. Ventura pack & water proof gear bag. Like Guy I ride a lot with a 990 Adv . I can keep up until he really ups the pace & it starts to get stupidly fast. This photo was taken at the end of a trip that involved a lot of dirt roads & 2 days of...

    Some doubts about Scrambler

You will love it on tight twisty roads once you have made the mods outlined to the bike & you have to modify your riding to minimise braking & carry more corner speed, it is very likely that after a while you find yourself riding the straight bits slower than you used to but are quicker through...

    New Suspenders...

I'm running 40 springs at around 2 turns, 7.5wt oil at standard height. Originally ran 20wt & the front was jarring & way too stiff. We need to get them side by side & compare .

    Tyre question??

Changing your own tyres is no biggy, but some are way stiffer than others in the side wall which can make them a bitch to get on & off . My Pirellis were balanced so I marked the valve postion so when refitted they were still in balance. There is a good tyre changing thread in advrider Fitted...
