Brake Pedal Height Adjustment on twin-carb Bonneville

Good morning all from a rather cool (as in weather) Perth, Western Australia. Small problem: I bought myself an excellent pair of off-road boots and now find that I cannot feel the gear-shift lever or rear brake pedal. I swapped over the foot-pegs and turned them upside down as recommended...

Anyone taken a long road trip on their Bonnie

I don't mean to hijack the thread but do tank bags leave scratches in your paintwork?

I'll show you mine if you'll show me your's! PICTURE THREAD

Fantastic, MTN - well done. It feels great picking up the Bonnie after waiting a long time. Is that an anniversary model? Looks beautiful.

    Air cooled..?

I wouldn't worry. I live in Western Australia and our summers would be at least as hot as yours; we get into the 40's and have a sustained period of 36+ every summer. My Bonneville commutes into the city and home every day - no problems with stop and start. Buy one!

    First ride after an off

Jimmy, Glad you're still in one piece, mate. The Humvee driver sounds like a standard Perth motorist who drives around with his head up his arse.

    HealTech gear indicator

That's a good point about hiding the wiring. I sorted out this problem to a large extent by upping the size of my front sprocket - far less hunting for sixth gear which is not easy to find on a Bonneville.:brit:

Clutch out of adjustment = Shuddering, Stalling...??

I reckon always go with the simple and straight-forward diagnosis first. Dodgy cable or incorrectly adjusted clutch. Take it back to the dealership again and get it sorted. I can imagine how this has put a damper on your experience but stick with it - all will be cool in the end.

    Bonnie rear wheel removal

Thanks Balto - I got that off first! The problem lies inside the silencer bracket; TC sounds on the money with lift and twist.

    Draggin Jeans?

I bought a pair of the Draggin' Jeans cargos at the beginning of the Australian summer. They are comfortable and do the job; they also feel like they would be quite handy in a prang. The armour has a rubber feel to it and it's good to know it is there. Handy pockets and ok to wear all day. They...

    Bonnie rear wheel removal

Thanks for the all advice guys. So here's what happened - I left work early on Monday to get home and rip off the wheel. I have Staintunes and couldn't get the bloody silencer off. Bolted back on the footpeg, got the grease off my hands and called a tow truck. $100. F*ck that... How do I get...

    Bonnie rear wheel removal

"displace the rear caliper"... Yep, that got me wondering too. Thanks for the advice, guys. I picked up a nail in my rear tyre the other day - wheel comes off this evening.

    Staintune for 2011 Bonneville

Dunno, Klem. All you can do is suck it and see, I suppose - the remap can follow if needed. Like I said, the dealer fitted mine and left everything else untouched as far as I can tell. Opening it up definitely feels better, though.

    honest bonnie review

Yep - totally agree on the Ikon shocks. Before I fitted them taking the bike around a bend was like kicking a turd around a corner. Have yet to really consider front springs but JimmyR's comment above is interesting.

    Staintune for 2011 Bonneville

I have a 2007 Bonneville and bought it nearly five years ago from its original fastidious owner with the Staintunes already fitted. They had been fitted by a Triumph dealership with the SAIS, snorkel, OEM air filter and 110 main jets left as is, so make of that what you will with regards to the...

    Airbox questions.

Over the Christmas period I took the opportunity to pull the restrictor plate from my airbox. When I bought the 07 bike four years ago the original owner had replaced the standard exhaust with a Staintune one. I pulled the SAIS, removed the snorkel and fitted a K&N - all of this helped but...
