    Fuel capacity and warning light

I get 110-130 miles to reserve depending on whether I'm bimbling or thrashing it, then you got about 30-40 miles max. I know someone who reckons he could get 150 + 50 but that's cutting it really fine or riding so carefully you'd extract all the fun I reckon.

    Breaking-in a new 2011 Scrambler

Change the tyres I hated the Bridgestones - massively uneven wear on the front - 3-4mm bobbling after 3000 miles; rear profile just nasty - like riding a wooden tyre. Change them for Michelin Anakee 2's and enjoy a totally brilliant bike!

    faulty aftermarket tacho

done another couple of hundred miles and no probs, so I'll wait on a bit. Still another 10 months of warranty:)

Hey if it was easy we wouldn't enjoy it so much!

    faulty aftermarket tacho

Well Bugger Oi down dead ......as someone once said.... Disconnected battery whilst HID conversion was done and the tacho has reset itself. Power surge maybe????

    faulty aftermarket tacho

Actually, I did stall the engine at some roadworks I think, and that sounds like a reasonable explanation - it feels like it's more likely to be a mechanical glitch. Like you I feel I ought to be able to sort it out rather than slope off to the dealer at the first problem. Cheers for that

    faulty aftermarket tacho

Morning folks Just got back from a cracking 120 mile tour of the Peaks, waiting at some lights in Derby and noticed the tacho is reading 3300 rpm... Engine clearly not racing so switched off and the tacho needle is static at 2300. Also noticed that the needle was sluggish when revving in...

    Resale value on a Scrambler

They first came out in 2006 nothing older than 4 years, so £4K minimum in GB; don't know how that translates into $ - maybe $6K?

    RPM's @ 100kms(60mph)

yep thats it! But its like having a second power band, twist your wrist and it keeps winding up to 5500/6000. I get really uncomfortable above 90mph anyway with the wind drag - despite the small windscreen. I just removed my baffle and am loving the gorgeous tune. Noticed a slightly less...

    Stock tire revelation

it would have been a road runner type splat across his rear screen (other side of the pond = other side of the road!). I left a 20 feet strip of rubber on a brand new road surface. The front tyre slipped slightly but "auto pilot" kicked in and I kept her upright :eeek: Like I say. too damn...

    Stock tire revelation

Been for a superb ride out this evening, having extracted the baffle at last and what a bloody gorgeous tune it plays now:headbang2: Rode out up thru Ashbourne and the Manifold valley. Stopped at Longnor for a smoke and coke (diet!) and met a bunch of guys from Sheffield. Lots of chat about the...

    Stock tire revelation

That has been exactly my experience Casper, but as a really new rider I put it down to my inexperience. I think I'll be swapping over to Tourances at the first opportunity then. The TrailWings are not "dangerous" perhaps but like you say the most use they get is on decent roads and the uneven...

    Stock tire revelation

That's interesting, mines just done 3K miles (had it 4 weeks and done 1300 of those!) I have noticed "bobbling" on the front, i.e the side pattern is wearing much faster than the centre tread and there is probably a 3mm "ridge" waiting to happen. The back tyre's wall profile is so sharp I...
