T-Fitting on stock Keihin carbs

What is the purpose of this T-Fitting between my stock Keihin CVK36 carbs?
Am I missing a hose?
(This isn't the fuel line connection point from the tank, but something else.)

I think thats the vent and should be pointing down with a hose on it.

RH, I think you're right. A carb breather hose should probably be attached.

I wonder what the consequences (or symptoms) of NOT having a hose attached would be? I'll attach a 3/8" or 5/16" OD (1 cm?) hose and see if it makes any noticeable difference.

You guys are right, its the vent. Just runs down and out below the frame in case of any carry over of fuel (won't end up all over your engine which could be hot).

4-5 RWHP and 8-10 ft-lbs of torque.

IMHO that breather should have some sort of filter on it.

You guys are right, its the vent. Just runs down and out below the frame in case of any carry over of fuel (won't end up all over your engine which could be hot).

+1 on that will run fine with out a hose on it just not real safe if the niddle and seat dont seal gas will come out of the vent.
