Need to know front rotor min. thickness tolerance

Is .5mm alot? It doesn't sound like much but maybe "normal wear" really is minimal??? Seems strange that there are different service limits specified for what is practically the same disc.....the numbers for the Scram and Thrux appear to be different too. Or maybe the manual is plain wrong?

Need to know front rotor min. thickness tolerance

Hmmm having re-read the bloody manual 790 Bonnie: thickness 5.0mm, service limit 4.5mm. 865 Bonnie: thickness 5.5mm, service limit 5.0mm. Odd.

    Need front end advice

I reckon front discs are 296mm diameter. The calipers fitted on those F3s are suspiciously similar to the Bonnie caliper.....2 piston sliding Nissin unit. Maybe Speedmaster calipers will bolt straight on? EBC sell the discs. There's calipers on Ebay in the UK......may be an expensive...

Need to know front rotor min. thickness tolerance

Service limit on the front disc is 4.5mm. It's usually stamped on the disc carrier.

    Need front end advice

The F3 forks are going to be a huge improvement over the stock Triumph items but the stock Honda cartridges are still pretty poor in real terms. Some companies...Traxxion, K-tech in the UK, there will be others...... offer a drop in cartridge kit that gives better performance and tuneability...

    Need front end advice

The F3 forks are a proper cartridge fork giving you far more tuneability and control than the cheap and crappy damper rod forks on the Bonnie.........if you really want to go wild get some Traxxion Dynamics 20mm cartridges to go in the F3 forks. If you want to keep the Triumph wheel you...

The Triumph alarm sits on the frame under the middle of the seat...there's 2 holes where welnuts insert to provide some vibration damping.

    Rough Gear Selector Movement

4,000 miles over? That's probably the problem....it'll be like water.

    Rough Gear Selector Movement

Has the bike been dropped on the left? Could be a bent selector. Does this happen only with the motor running? If so then clutch adjustment. Alternatively low oil level or wrong oil (cue an oil debate).

    Which Cams Are Which ??

It's the header that makes all the difference. All 865 Bonnies (not just later ones) have the Thruxton needles.

    Bonnie vs Scrambler

Probably around 57 bhp.....the EFI bike may be around 60. EFI Scram and Bonnie are still different.....Scram has the 270 crank and 8bhp less than the Bonnie. If you want to make the most of what you've got on the cheap then open up both sides of the airbox, remove the restrictor inside the...

    Oil

Yet there are many owners who use fully synthetic oil without clutch slip issues, me included. In fact I have only ever had one bike out of 40 odd that had clutch slip, and that had worn clutch plates. Run what you like, it's your motor and your money.

    Babysitting some hairy misfits

I feed Orijen to my dogs. It's a dry food made from meat, fruit and veg. There is no wheat or grain in it, which dogs digest badly. this food was recommended to us by other Bedlington Terrier owners. It's not easy to come by in the UK, although there are a couple of retailers. Since I started...
