    Hi from TTP.

Mike, I just noticed that you've added the TTP Safe Start to your inventory. Good on you. That's a very nice piece, and I'll be needing one before too long. You're a true innovator. Cheers-

    Widest wheels on stock forks?

LOL, and the soccer sandals and shorts are a nice touch, too. Who needs a helmet for a quick jaunt over the handle bars?! These dudes make bank; SERIOUS bank! Everyone knows that rich dudes NEVER get thrown from their bikes. That's for the regular Joe who wears full kit all the time...

    Widest wheels on stock forks?

It's actually a little cheaper (not much) to go with cast wheels if you don't mind the break from traditional spokes. (no pun intended) Honda CBR F2 wheels from 1991-1994 fit up with very little fuss, and only a couple of new machined spacers, etc. If you plan to sell off your complete Triumph...

Hanging up my helmet , gear for sale

I hear you, Doug. Those things are always tricky, and you'll never hear one word of grief from me about your predicament, or your solution to it. I have a few friends who've gotten to points in their lives where riding is simply no longer an option for them. While you knock around the idea...

What's it worth? 2001 Bonneville, lots of good stuff.

Take it easy there, bubba. You're welcome to offer your opinion, just as I'm welcome to offer mine. No need in reducing yourself to the point where you feel inclined to throw vulgarities at me. I have legitimate reason to believe that in ten years, 11G is what a clean, unmolested one will...

    Wide Thruxton Rear Wheels

I really like those USD forks. What are they from? Cheers-

Hanging up my helmet , gear for sale

Doug... I'm damned sorry to hear of your predicament, but as I have known you for nigh on ten years now, I understand. I clearly remember you had a tough time letting go of 2 wheels, and recall you coming back to the sport on a BMW. You've had a tough break there, bud, but as Rich said, we...

    Widest wheels on stock forks?

I know this is a dead thread, but the widest symmetrical wheel that can be run on the rear of a Bonnie (and its derivatives) is 5" wide (5.5" with a slight offset), and the widest that can be used on the front is a 3.5" wheel, but that's with Honda sliders. With stock forks, the widest seems to...

What's it worth? 2001 Bonneville, lots of good stuff.

No way, man. That's an early 2001 with crossed coolant line heads, making the build date between 11/2000 and 3/2001. (It also has the first gen. radical cams, steel side covers, etc., but those are not nearly as important as those heads) It's worth a good deal more than that to most folks...

    Scrambler Tacho Help

God love you, mate. I got it last night, and this is how I did it: Red wire to pin 15 on the ignitor Green wire with red stripe to Positive horn terminal (12 V power) Brown wire to ground (parking lamp pigtail) Red wire with blue stripe to accessory lighting (yellow wire on parking...

    Cool Front end mod

<<Its as if a Thruxton crashed into a Ducati and in the mess left they put the bikes back together from what was left.>> LOL I see that, and agree that it looks a little out of place, but I think if the gold were painted black, it might help a bit. As for the improved handling and braking...

    Scrambler Tacho Help

The tacho doesn't make the pulse--it accepts it from the ignitor, so it doesn't matter at all. The tacho is a blank slate, so to speak. One of the many benefits of electronics over mechanical bits.

    Cool Front end mod

That's an interesting speedo...it only goes to 120MPH... Wonder what's up with that?

    5.0" rear wheel Thruxton

Consider also that you can safely run a 170/60 on a 4.5" rim, and certainly a 170/70. It gives you the tyre you want, and reduces the unsprung weight over a 5" (or larger) rim. Just another idea to kick around... Cheers-

    5.0" rear wheel Thruxton

I see you retained your centre stand. Very cool. I suspect you had to trim the inner leg stands... Do tell. Cheers-

    Scrambler Tacho Help

Yes, since it takes its "pulse" from the ignitor. This is why we can use Harley tachos, and pretty much any tach that can be set for a twin. This was not the case wth the old mechanical tachos.

    I could have been killed

When any of us ever assumes another driver is reasonable, we lose. Assume everyone is out to get you, and you will live a lot longer. It's unfortunate, because it takes a lot of the 'free spirit' out of it all--but it's the reality of things. This summer past, I was run onto the gravel...

    Scrambler Tacho Help

Well, that's what I was afraid of. In the old days, you didn't have to worry about blowing things up, but these days, it's easy to fry the sensitive electronics. As for Triumph switching wire colours at will, I've actually never seen a worse offender of this. It would be nice if they'd...

    Scrambler Tacho Help

I'm wiring up a Scrambler Tacho to my 2000 model Bonnie, and I need help decyphering the 4 wires (2 pigtails with 2 wires each). The large pigtail has a brown wire with a green perforated parber pole stripe, and a red wire with a blue stripe down the centre. The small pigtail has a red...
