Another lovey day in the desert

    scram for touring?

No worries. I just rode 1800 miles in 2 and a half days on mine. From Washington DC to Boulder Colorado. Not all of it was Interstate. Sheepskin arse pad and a 19 tooth sprocket helped. Plus the fly screen works if you are not tall. It's fine. Flies along at 85 all day if you have to...

    Frame Damage - Scrambler

To answer a few questions up front, the bike is under warranty for a few months more, it has 46,000 miles, and I keep the bike serviced. A head's up: the damage starts out as a crack in the powdercoat and the seam between the welds buckles slowly at first. I am posting this to suggest that...

Arrow 2 into 1 installed wrong?

sniffers Roy ( and all) related Q: Are the CO2 sniffer cables (or whatever they are called) on the EFI Arrow pipe meant to go under or over the carb manifold? Mine went under. Seems like a tight fit and a bit hot. Dave

    Bonneville iron butt

I got home and covered 1683 miles in 27 hours.. >>> Fantastic. Did you do all that IB documentation stuff or just do it for fun? I may have a 1650 mile run to Boulder coming up and wondered about nailing 1000 in a day on the Scrambler. 750ish was my limit on the Bonnie or any other bike...

Arrow 2 into 1 installed wrong?

Does anyone have any suggestions? The dealer I bought the bike from is 2.5 hours from my home and I really don't want to go back if necessary. >> I just checked mine. Right pipe goes bottom. Phew. Asheville? Same bloke that put my Bonnie cams back in wrong no doubt ;( Hit and miss to say the...

the new scram is on the way

I'm glad they are launching it. But I doubt a 3 cylinder, liquid cooled bike will exude the cool, rugged simplicity of the scrambler. D

    new Bonneville performance

T140 v Bonnie Iv'e owned and loved them both. It's the vibration over 70 that gets you on the 750. New Bonnies are way, way smoother. I've done long trips including cross- country on the new ones. Would have been a PITA on a Meriden Bonnie. It's not a Goldwing but it's a vast improvement at...

Reasons NOT to buy a Bonneville...

Reasons NOT to buy a Bonneville...

Quick update, going to test ride this on Sunday. A little more than I wanted to spend £4299 ($6500). 15000 miles 2006.>> Seems a little pricey for the miles. Enjoy. And maybe keep looking. Lower miles should be available. Don't buy a Bonnie! You will get hooked and be up all hours chatting...

    Mystery Fuel Tank

Looks EFI but it's probably not EFI because it has a fuel tap. Not Norman Hyde because of the shape and badges. . Purple is not a stock colour for any year. A Thunderbird tank? Could be a modified stock one. Most likely. D

    Best Scrambler suspension mods?

Like the original poster.... I am still waiting to hear about which shock set up people are using and have found enjoyable.>> Crickets..Crickets.. ;) I'm leaning towards YSS at the rear but still confused about how to fix the front without a "suspension shop" nearby. Dave 2010 Scram.

I picked a big green one.

thanks Mike . I really like the 270 motors vibe. Surprised how much. This bike has got quite a following. Amazing really, it's "just" a Bonnie with a different pipes and crank. Kudos to Triumph for spotting the potential. I honestly wasn't crazy about it when it first came out but it grew on...

Thoughts on Triumph off road mufflers

These are a little raspier than the NH Togas. Togas are a tad deeper/ mellower. Not too loud. I had TORs and switched to Togas back in 02. Best sound of all IMHO is Staintune but $$$$. Mellow. Throbby. Bests Dave Btw TORs on a Thrux are nice . Confusing innit?

I picked a big green one.

rallies There' been a New Bonnie Forum Rally at Deals Gap early May for the last eight years or so . It's now at Maggie Valley. I've missed it the last couple of years because of babies and whatnot. There's a smaller New Bonnie meet at Linville Falls in Sept...

Most comfortable seat for a Scrambler?

stock seat Standard Bonnie seat, solo rack/ seat and Thruxton seats are all better than the standard scram seats IMHO. Had them all. D
