    Are these OEM silencers interchangeable?

Thinking about picking up a used OEM silencer to replace the RHS original, which is heavily scuffed and scratched. The part number of the original is 2206480 (SILENCER,EXHAUST,CATALYST,RH) On fleabay there's a similar one with the part number 2206490, which according to the parts fiche is...

    Luggage and Panniers?

Thanks for posting. I have the exact same cases from a previous bike and was wondering what they'd look like on the Bonny. Not bad at all, it seems.

That looks good. Any buffeting noise?

    front tire pressure (17")

Thanks for that. I thought there might be a difference between the 17" and 19" sizes.

    front tire pressure (17")

Anybody know offhand the pressure for a Metzler 110/70? There's no sticker on my bike, and the manual lists a different tire.

    2011 Triumph Sprint GT

Looks nice, but I was kinda hoping the new model would get a shaft drive.

    Steet Triple coming from Bonnie....

I went the opposite direction. I had a Street Triple R for about a year and traded it for an 09 Bonnie in November. The STR is a awesome bike and I had no issues with mine, apart from a defective regulator/rectifier and alternator. I had a long test ride before buying and never thought the...

    Luggage and Panniers?

I see what you mean. Although 2 points is prolly OK, 3 points would allow the panniers to be really loaded up. Thanks again for the input. I'll post up pics when finished.

    Luggage and Panniers?

Brilliant! Many thanks for the pic otherwise. This is quite similar to what I had in mind. Especially w.r.t. connecting the racks on both sides with a single plate extending over the subframe. Did you use the pillion foot rest attachment for peace of mind, or do you think it necessary from a...

    Luggage and Panniers?

Outstanding work Eric! Those look better than the Touratech boxes. Your project has got me thinking about getting racks fabricated for an old pair of Hepco and Becker panniers collecting dust in my closet. What mounting points did you use for your racks? It looks like the lower shock bolts...

    Luggage Bracket

Looks good. I plan to use the same bracket to attach a pair of panniers from an old bike.

MCResources Sissy Bar and Luggage Rack

I agree that it does nothing for the bike's looks, but in this case practicality wins the day. Actually, using a sissy bar bag (or soft bag with a loop of some kind) flipped around to rest on the seat is exactly what I plan to do for overnight trips. Many luggage possibilities.

MCResources Sissy Bar and Luggage Rack

Thought I'd post up some pics of this sissy bar/rack combo that I installed last week. I got it for two reasons: to let my pillion feel more secure, and to have something to easily attach my briefcase to. I have one of those soft briefcases with a sleeve meant to be slid over the pull-up handle...

want opinions and information on screens

Thanks Dandy for sharing your experience with the Parabellum, especially wrt the screen heights. I mailed the company about this, and they responded thusly: "A 6ft person on a Bonneville would require a 20 inch shield in order to get the wind quietly over your helmet."

want opinions and information on screens

A cold snap in my area has also got me thinking about wind protection. So far narrowed my list down to the Triumph screen or going the whole hog with a Parabellum Scout fairing.

Mounting top case to rest on seat...ideas welcome

Many thanks for the excellent suggestions. I removed the seat for the first time today (just picked up the bike last week) and found the threaded bolt holes in the cross support, so together with the upper shocks it seems I have plenty of options to fasten a platform of some kind with or without...

Mounting top case to rest on seat...ideas welcome

Been thinking about getting a large, Givi-style top case, but since I plan on carrying heavyish loads, I'm wondering about ways to mount it on the seat so as to position it above/in front of the rear axle. So far, my idea is to install a grab rail, and then cobble together some kind of linkage...
