Resolved with new MOSFET R/R. Seems to be charging properly. 14.5V above 2000rpm. Will put some miles on it over the next few months to see how it holds up. Cheers, Joe

Ok...Finally found some other references of the voltage across the leads of the Stator at idle. Looks like 15-20VAC at idle is ok. I'm going to take this as the case unless someone else counters this. Regards, Joe

You can also use a broom(wooden) handle inserted into the fork to hold the damper in place while turning the bolt. Cheers, Joe

Does ever happen under engine braking (ie. when you're still at Higher RPMs)? Or only when you go from a high RPM to a Low RPM? How low is your idle set? Regards, Joe

Luckily, I ended up not needing the impact driver.... I also had picked up some new Torx Bits and I Gave it one more go with the ratchet. I gotta Say, the NAPA Bits held up much better than the craftsmans. I'm off to get some new shims... thanks for the advise. Regards, Joe

Good to know it's not just me.... I also found a couple other posts that indicated the bolts being a pain to get off. I'll try again tomorrow with an impact driver. I just didn't expect that they would that hard to get off when they are only spec'd at 10Nm. Cheers, Joe

Sadly I will agree with you... Need to order valve cover and alt cover gaskets anyway. I'm a bit surprised that I need 2 shims replaced at only 9K miles. Time to read the threads concerning shim replacement (I also have the factory manual). Thanks for the input... Joe

Drained Oil with bike at operating temp... Replaced Oil Filter w/ K&N, filled 1gal of Rotella Snyth 5w40. Also double checked the oil level before draining to check valves (alt. cover removed). Joe
