Is it possible you missed one or more of the ground wires? Maybe to one to ground from the starter solenoid or the ignition module? There sre several which are easy to miss because they are grouped together inside the harness. Mike

LMT, I did what you want to do. First learn the stock wiring diagram from the manual, then take all the tape off the harness and match each wire to the diagram. This is a lot harder than it seems. Once you know what everything is and does, it will be easy to remove a lot of wire, some...

I don't think that is the diode pack. The diodes are loose in the wiring loom. I will see if I have the ones I removed and let you know. Pinwall is a good dealer, but they aren't always accurate, you have to look closely. Mike

It is held on by two 6 X 1MM hex head flange bolts. Not sure of the length.

Joe - use an impact driver, or hit the top of the bolt head with a blunt punch before you try to loosen it. Mike

Support the bike, unbolt the gauges, loosen the pinch bolts on the fork tubes, remove the center nut, lift the tree and the handlebars as a unit. Mike

Or... remove the top triple tree, and slide them up. Mike

Cam cover gaskets, new sealing washers under bolts, very careful cleaning of gasket surface should fix it. Mike

+1 on hitting them directly on the head, they'll come right out.
