    Scrambler has a mate

Hi guy's, just added another beast to the stable to sit along side the scram. But it is time to let something go. It will be the guzzi. I have come to really appreciate the Hinckley product and I think the scram and tiger will be perfect companions for me. The tiger has it all over the scram...

Project Scrambler... done! (for now anyway)

Dude, it is so awesome to see your pictures because about a week ago I was thinking that there is just toooo much chrome on my pipes. My solution was to paint the sheilds all black, and behold, I can look before I try. I like it, although I have been thinking of doing the two big rear sheilds as...

Triple owners - advice please - tiger 955 vs 800

Heres the go: Got a Scrambler back in 2008, but it left me wanting in some aspects. One of them was two up touring with the missus, so got a 2001 Guzzi EV for the stable. Now I want to sell the Guzzi and spend this money (plus some) on a Tiger. Have my eye on a reasonably priced low km 2004...

    A lesson in "Fork Stiction"

Cheers Sanjuro, yeah it is a bit hard to believe what a difference it can make. I was like you and was just living with it. One unexpected thing came out of it for me, and that is, just how good these bikes are because on some rough bitumen surfaces and bouncy corners at it's worst it could...

    A lesson in "Fork Stiction"

Please tell what the ideal solution would be, or somewhere to read about it if explanation is lengthy. Thanks by the way.

Scrambler & the Girl with a Dragon Tattoo

Hey Zoe, glad to hear your on the mend. I think I can safely say that most posters on this site will be glad you are OK and can possibly keep on doing those fun photo shoots that we all love so much. Awesome bike, awesome pictures. Thanks.

    A lesson in "Fork Stiction"

Just learnt a valuable lesson. Thought I would pass it on to anyone interested. I took my front forks out and sent them away to be up-spec'd. New springs and valves etc. After re-installing them the bike tended to shake it's head on certain bumps. Balanced the wheel, checked tire pressures...

    New Toy

Welcome dude. I also love the blacked out look on your pipes. Have a read through the forum and look for 'bafflectomy' before shelling out on TORs. It might suit you.

    Petrol Octane rating

Have you got any pictures you can share of the flat tracker? Mmmm

    Petrol Octane rating

Sorry to hear about the bike being stolen dude. F...n asses. Your comments about NZ are very appreciated, and it is a really good little country to run a scrambler in, lots of those in between type roads that the scrambler seems to love. I think in the UK they call them green lanes.

    Petrol Octane rating

Thanks for all the info guy's. Two lessons have been learnt by me. Firstly you obviously cant trust the word of a Triumph race tuning mechanic, and secondly I cant trust my senses that seemed to tell me the bike ran better. Not more power or mileage, as he had suggested, but just better?? Back...

    Petrol Octane rating

Mines a carbed bike as well Texas, and your probably right about the mileage thing, I did doubt that a bit. But there is definetely a difference in the performance that I can detect. Octane rating must make some sort of difference because if I put 91 in the fuel injected guzzi, which is...

Price for a shiny gas tank?

It would be an opportunity to stick one of the Norman Hyde long range tanks on. They are fashioned after the old Triumph tanks and hold 40% more volume. Pricey but.

    Petrol Octane rating

In NZ petrol is Octane rated and is available in two grades. Unleaded 91 and unleaded 95. Triumph recommend using 91. I have recently found out (by mistakenly putting the wrong go juice in at the pumps) that 95 makes my bike go better. I thought maybe I could be doing some damage. 95% said some...
