Go with a lithium ion phoshate battery. MUCH smaller, doesn't discharge as fast as a regular battery. Look up "Carbon-Speed Batteries"

Basically they are about the size of an RC battery and can power your bike. So imagine the space and weight savings...and you'll probably never need a battery tender ever again....except somehow if you discharge it

I am using one now, seems to be very good, and less cost than the previous AGM I was using. Advantage is that they are not sensitive to positioning.
