A month or so ago I finally had the opportunity to buy a nice guitar, and got a Taylor GC-5 that I wrote about here.
The GC-5 is a very nice guitar, but after playing with it for awhile back at home and although it had a very nice and clear upper end, it just didn't have the nice deep bass that I was longing for.
So, back to The Podium I went, and fell for another Taylor that I just had to bring home.
This one was a step up in size, a dreadnought style, and it really rings at the top end and has a very deep and sustaining bass. Plus, it's pretty much the most gorgeous guitar I've ever seen; some may not like the blue, too non-traditional, but it really is stunning.

The inlay consists of abalone, coral and some synthetic materials, the top is solid bearclaw Sitka spruce, back and sides are quilted/flamed maple.
Although this is a limited 'gallery' offering, I do play it and feel that it's a crime to put up nice guitars/bikes/cars/guns just because you're afraid to cause wear. I do make sure I'm not wearing a belt with buckle or my clip-on pocketknife when I'm playing, those could really gouge it up.
Well, gonna go work on my calluses some more!
