Valve adjustment shims

At 18.5k , the 12k service was done (I risked it). The bill shows that 4 tappets needed shims as follows: one 2.925mm shim and three 2.90mm shims. Can this be interpreted to mean that each of those 4 tappets was loose and thus needed bigger shims or vice versa. Thanks.

Damn if I know. I picked it up after the dealer had closed (300 miles away). Should have asked.

This is curious, since with most modern engines the valve clearances get tighter, not looser.

Has anyone else had their Bonnie valves get loose?

Mine were half and half, intake were loose and exhaust were tight.

All four of my intake valves were loose (needed bigger shims) at 13,000 miles. One exhaust valve was slightly tight and the other three were within spec.

Speaking of what kinda shims do our bikes use? I remember reading we could use honda or yammerhammer shims and I'm about to do the valves on mine so it'd be good to know.
